What this is

The africanDRONE World Drone Map is a free public reference, maintained by africanDRONE, for drone regulations, aviation contacts, and drone projects worldwide, with the deepest coverage across Africa. It is not affiliated with any government aviation authority.

How Ease of Flight is rated

The rating is an editorial assessment by africanDRONE, based on published regulations, operator reports, and community feedback. It is a practical guide to how hard it is to fly legally, not a legal ruling. Each country falls into one of three tiers, plus No Data:

To be honest about a limitation: a small number of countries with no drone-specific legal framework currently appear as Straightforward. We are reviewing these as a separate category, because the absence of rules is not the same as easy, well-supported access.

Ratings are reviewed continuously. Each country page shows whether its data has been re-verified since the March 2026 baseline import.

How contacts are listed

Contacts are submitted directly to africanDRONE or sourced from publicly available information, and confirmed at the time of listing. Listing is not an endorsement of any individual or company. To correct or remove a listing, email support@worlddronemap.com.

Data sources

Hazard overlays (prisons, military areas, airports) derive from OpenStreetMap. They are indicative only and are not an official no-fly list.

Not legal advice

Everything on this map is for general reference only. Drone laws change frequently and vary by aircraft type, operation category, and use case. Verify current rules with the relevant civil aviation authority before flying. africanDRONE accepts no liability for decisions made on the basis of information shown here.
